The WRT54GL router is part of Linksys’ continued committment to the Linux and open-source community. It is based on the discontinued series of Linux-based WRT54G routers (new models now run VxWorks operating system) and can be flash-programmed with popular open-source Linux distribution, such as Open WRT. It can therefore be used to build small and inexpensive Asterisk or other SIP proxy solutions.
